Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles extended the contact of team president Joe Banner through the 2010 season on Friday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Although the Eagles are coming off a poor 6-10 year, Banner is still highly regarded around the NFL after leading Philadelphia to four NFC East titles and an NFC championship.

Banner is considered to be one of the league's best salary cap managers and has been lauded for the hiring of head coach Andy Reid.

He was also a key cog in securing the team a new state-of-the-art stadium and a beautiful 108,000-square foot training facility.

Banner has been in charge of the Eagles' day-to-day operations since May of 1994 and was named the team's president on August 1, 2001.
