Hello, my name is Tammy Lowrey-Ridgley, I'm 5'9, 138lbs., and full of DYNAMITE!
While growing up in Pensacola, Florida I was a "SPORTS JUNKY."
Whether it was cheerleading or softball I worked hard to become the best. Although female sports were fun, I longed for something more challenging, something tougher, something that was actually off limits to female athletes,
Full Contact MENS Football.
Putting on shoulder pads and a helmet was something that I watched my brother do time and time again while growing up and something that I watched my husband do in the NFL. I never thought I would someday have the same opportunities as they had.
I attended Troy State University on a softball scholarship and received a Bachelors in Sports Medicine with a Teaching Degree. I furthererd my education by attending Auburn University on a Sports Medicine scholarship and received a Master's Degree in Health & Human Performance. I accepted my first job with the NFL Europe League (formerly known as the World Football League). I was the first female to work as an Athletic Trainer in Men's Professional Football.
After 4 years of working with Professional Football, I took a job that I still currently hold as the Athletic Trainer for the Best, Pound for Pound Professional Boxer in the World, Roy Jones Jr.
The National Women's Football Association brought Women's Full Contact Football to Pensacola, Florida. I'm going on my 3rd season as starting Linebacker for The Pensacola Power, the action is unbelievable and I can't get enough of it!
Being raised in Florida, the beach is one of my favorite places to spend time, whether sunning or fishing. As I said before, I am a "SPORTS JUNKY!" I love all sports, horseback riding (someday, I hope to own a Clydesdale), working out, watching movies, fitness and fashion modeling, and playing with my two kitty cats (but I have a heart for all animals). I like challenges, taking it to the next level and doing things that people say are impossible to do. DREAM BIG, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
I am always looking for new sponsors to support my rough, tough and glamorous habit of playing women's full contact football! If you are interested please contact me via the team website.
