Colts place Ismail on injured reserve

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts placed wide receiver Qadry Ismail on injured reserve Saturday with a concussion.

Ismail suffered the injury in the third quarter of last Sunday's 44-27 loss to the New York Giants. Ismail caught a short pass and was leveled by Giants cornerback Ralph Brown while trying to turn upfield. Both players were knocked out momentarily, but Ismail sustained a concussion and did not return.

The 32-year-old Ismail had 44 catches for 462 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Indianapolis activated wide receiver Adam Herzig from the practice squad to take Ismail's roster spot. Also, the Colts signed rookie linebacker J.R. Robinson to the practice squad.
