Cleveland Indians Team Report - April 19th

(Sports Network) - The Indians fell to the White Sox last night, 5-3 at U.S. Cellular Field. Cleveland has lost three games in a row and has lost four of six on the road this season.

Omar Vizquel and Josh Bard each posted two hits for the Indians, who suffered their seventh defeat in the last nine games.

Billy Traber (0-1) absorbed the loss. He retired just one of the three hitters he faced. Ricardo Rodriguez permitted three runs and five hits in six innings of work.

Milton Bradley leads the Indians with 23 hits, 15 runs and a .359 average.

Brian Anderson will head to the mound today for the Tribe. Anderson is 2-1 on the season with an ERA of 3.48 in three starts. In his last start on Monday, Anderson allowed six runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings of work in a loss to the Royals.

One of Anderson's victories this season came against the White Sox. In that matchup, Anderson threw six innings, yielding seven hits and only two runs. The 30-year old lefthander has pitched well against the White Sox in his career, posting a 3-1 record in four starts. His ERA in those appearances is 5.27. He has allowed 34 hits in 27 1/3 innings of duty.

The Indians are 1-3 against the White Sox this season and have fallen in four of the last five matchups.
