Chicago White Sox Team Report - April 20th

(Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox try for their fifth straight victory today, as they face the Cleveland Indians at U.S. Cellular Field. It will be the third contest of a four-game series.

Yesterday, the White Sox routed the Indians, 12-3. Carlos Lee homered and drove in four runs while Josh Stewart pitched six solid innings for his first career victory.

Magglio Ordonez homered and D'Angelo Jimenez went 4-for-5 with two RBI for the White Sox.

Jimenez has a six-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in 13 consecutive games.

Ordonez extended his hitting streak to 15-game in the victory yesterday. Paul Konerko is only 3-for-18 in his last six games and Frank Thomas is just 4- for-15 in the past five starts for the White Sox.

Lefthander Mark Buehrle will take the mound today in his fifth start of the season and second against the Indians.

In his last outing on April 15th, Buehrle did not figure in the decision against the Royals. In that contest, the southpaw surrendered only three runs on eight hits while striking out eight batters.

Against the Tribe on April 10th, Buehrle recorded his second win of the season, throwing seven innings, yielding only one run one five hits while striking out two batters. The lefty has been mediocre against the Indians in his career, posting a 4-4 record with a 4.86 ERA.
