Chicago White Sox Team Report - April 19th

(Sports Network) - Chicago will face the Cleveland Indians today at U.S. Cellular Field. The White Sox defeated the Indians last night by a score of 5-3 in the first game of a four-game set.

Last night, Bartolo Colon tossed his first complete game of the season. Colon (2-0) allowed nine hits and three runs on 102 pitches for the 20th complete game of his career. He also walked three and struck out three.

Jose Valentin and Magglio Ordonez each finished with two hits and two runs batted in for the White Sox, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit to post their third straight win and sixth in their last eight games.

D'Angelo Jimenez contributed two hits and scored twice, while Carlos Lee added a home run. Ordonez extended his hitting streak to 14 games, going 2-for-5 with 2 RBI last night.

Frank Thomas is just 2-for-17 in his last six games.

Josh Stewart will throw from the mound today for Chicago. Stewart is 0-1 on the season in two starts with an ERA of 4.91. In his last outing on April 12th, Stewart recorded the loss against the Tigers. That was the first and only victory of the year for the Tigers.

In that contest, Stewart allowed four runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. This will be the first appearance for Stewart against the Cleveland Indians.
