Seattle Mariners Team Report - April 19th

(Sports Network) - The AL West-leading Seattle Mariners shoot for their third consecutive win as they continue a three-game series against the Anaheim Angels tonight at Edison Field.

Seattle has won six of its last seven to grab the top slot in the West by one game over Oakland. The Mariners continued their hot streak with an 8-2 win in last night's series opener.

Bret Boone went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBI to lead the Seattle to the comfortable victory. Mike Cameron also added a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Jamie Moyer (2-1) scattered seven hits in seven scoreless innings for the Mariners, who have won six of their last seven games. He also struck out four and walked just two.

Righthander Joel Pineiro will get the call for Seattle tonight, as he is currently 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA. Pineiro defeated Oakland on Monday in a game in which he surrendered three earned runs and six hits in seven innings of work.

Pineiro is 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA in eight career appearances against the Angels, including four starts.

Ichiro Suzuki is hitting just .254 so far this season for the Mariners, and Cameron is currently batting .246.
