Tampa Bay Devil Rays Team Report - April 22nd

(Sports Network) - The Devil Rays, losers of two straight, start a three-game series at home tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Tampa Bay was blanked 4-0 by the Baltimore Orioles last night. George Lombard, Rocco Baldelli, Al Martin, Marlon Anderson and Rey Ordonez picked up the only hits for the Devil Rays, who have not scored a run in 16 innings and lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Carl Crawford went 0-for-4 and is mired in an 0-for-20 slump, while Baldelli has hit in four straight games since having his season-opening 13-game hitting streak halted.

Joe Kennedy gets the call tonight for the Devil Rays and will be looking to improve on his 4-0 mark against the Blue Jays. Kennedy has started eight games against Toronto in his career and has pitched to a 3.47 ERA.

The 23-year-old southpaw is 0-1 on the year with a 5.18 ERA and is coming off his worst outing of the season in his last start. On Thursday, Kennedy yielded five runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings in a 6-0 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
