Erstad undergoes MRI

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Anaheim outfielder Darin Erstad underwent an MRI on his right hamstring Monday and the procedure showed no signs of a tear in his tendon. He is listed as day-to-day.

The MRI, which was taken at Kerlan-Jobe Health-South Clinic in Los Angeles, revealed only swelling in the hamstring.

Erstad is hitting .333 with two homers and eight runs batted in this season. He is also tied with Boston's Nomar Garciaparra for the AL lead with 18 runs scored.

Erstad, who underwent off-season surgery on his right hand, hit .283 with 10 home runs and 99 runs scored last season for the World Series champions.

The Angels open a three-game series with the New York Yankees at Edison Field on Tuesday.
