Chicago White Sox Team Report - April 23

(Sports Network) - Bartolo Colon takes the hill for the White Sox tonight in search of his third straight win, as Chicago battles Baltimore in the second of the three-game set in Camden Yards.

After no-decisions in his first two starts with the White Sox, Colon has responded with back-to-back wins, including Friday's complete game victory over his former team the Cleveland Indians. The 29-year-old righty allowed three runs on nine hits and three walks, while fanning three. The White Sox are 3-1 in Colon's starts this season.

Colon is 5-2 with a 2.55 ERA in nine career starts against the Orioles.

In the opener of the set on Tuesday, Esteban Loaiza pitched 8 1/3 strong innings to notch his fourth straight win and Frank Thomas went 2-for-4 with a homer, leading Chicago to a 3-1 victory.

Joe Crede and Paul Konerko also drove in runs for the White Sox, who snapped a two-game slide and won for the fifth time in seven games. Carlos Lee had a single, but saw his home run streak end at five games, while Magglio Ordonez extended his career-best hitting streak to 18 games with a fourth-inning base hit.

Despite his solid performance on Tuesday, Konerko is batting just .203 with eight RBI in 19 games.

Chicago has scored 100 runs so far this season, the only AL Central team to reach the century mark.
