Chicago White Sox Team Report - April 24

(Sports Network) - The White Sox sent their ace to the mound on Wednesday but still suffered their third loss in the last four games, as they fell 7-1 to the Baltimore Orioles.

Bartolo Colon (2-1) absorbed his first loss of the season after throwing six innings and allowing five runs on seven hits to go along with three strikeouts and two walks.

Jose Valentin, Paul Konerko, and Sandy Alomar Jr. were the only White Sox to post hits in the contest.

D'Angelo Jimenez, with a walk last night, has now reached base safely in 18 straight games, while Magglio Ordonez's 18-game hitting streak ended when he finished 0-for-2.

The White Sox sent catcher Josh Paul to Triple-A Charlotte yesterday and called up lefthander David Sanders, who made his major league debut by tossing a scoreless eighth inning for Chicago.

Southpaw Josh Stewart gets the call for the White Sox today, as he tries to record his second win of the season. He came away with his first victory of the year last time he took the mound, going six innings and allowing just one earned run, while striking out three against the Indians last week.

Stewart (1-1) is making just his first career start against the Orioles today and will try to improve on his 3.71 ERA this season.
