Cleveland Indians Team Report - April 24

(Sports Network) - The Cleveland Indians suffered a 4-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, in the second of a three-game series at Safeco Field.

Ricardo Rodriguez (2-1) absorbed his first setback of the season. The righthander yielded four runs and five hits over seven innings.

Omar Vizquel and Brandon Phillips had two hits apiece for the Tribe, who have lost two in a row after winning two straight. Cleveland dropped the opener by an 8-5 score.

Karim Garcia had his nine-game hitting streak stopped for Cleveland, while outfielder Milton Bradley missed the game with a hamstring injury.

Ellis Burks came into yesterday's game on a 6-for-14 tear with five RBI, but went 0-for-4 in the contest with three strikeouts.

Brian Anderson had a strong start to the season, but he has posted losses in his last two outings. He went just five innings in his most recent start after allowing nine runs and 11 hits in a losing effort against the White Sox.

Anderson (2-2) will take the mound for the Indians today and will try to record his third victory of the year. He has posted a record of just 1-4 against the Mariners, while also having an ERA of 4.73 in those outings.
