Chicago White Sox Team Report - April 25

(Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox were held scoreless over the final six innings of yesterday's matchup with the Baltimore Orioles en route to a 5-4 loss.

D'Angelo Jimenez finished 2-for-4 and Jose Valentin hit a two-run homer for the White Sox, who have lost four of their last five.

Tom Gordon (1-2) suffered the loss after hurling just two-thirds of an inning and allowing one run on one hit with one strikeout.

Seven of the nine Chicago starters notched hits, including Konerko, who extended his hitting streak to six games.

Konerko is batting only .211 this season with two homers and eight RBI after signing a three-year contract extension worth 23 million dollars in mid- November.

Chicago opens a three-game set tonight against the struggling Minnesota Twins, who enter this contest having lost six straight outings.

Mark Buehrle will toe the rubber tonight for the White Sox and is 2-2 with a 3.27 ERA on the season. The 23-year-old righthander allowed seven runs on 11 hits over 4 1/3 innings in his last outing, a 7-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians.

Buehrle has made 12 appearances against the Twins -- 10 starts -- and is 7-2 with a 4.02 ERA.
