Tampa Bay Devil Rays Team Report - April 25

(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Devil Rays were denied their first three-game sweep of the season yesterday as they dropped a 5-3 decision to the Toronto Blue Jays at Tropicana Field.

Carl Crawford, Marlon Anderson and Rey Ordonez each drove in a run for the Devil Rays, who have split their last six games.

Jorge Sosa (1-2) left after five innings for Tampa. He absorbed the loss, allowing three runs and three hits while walking three and striking out one.

Anderson extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and Rocco Baldelli has hit in seven straight and 20 of 21 contests.

Tampa attempts to bounce back from yesterday's loss tonight as it opens a weekend series at home against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Devil Rays will give the ball to Seth McClung, who is set to make his first career start. He is 1-0 with a 4.30 ERA in seven appearances for Tampa Bay this season.

McClung, a rookie, has appeared in two games against Baltimore this season, allowing no runs and two hits in six innings of relief with no record.

Tampa has yielded 135 runs so far this season, tying it for the second-highest total in the majors.
