Kansas City Royals Team Report - April 27

(Sports Network) - Ken Harvey belted a three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Kansas City Royals past the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-6. The teams have split the first two contests of the three-game series at SkyDome.

Harvey finished 3-for-5 with four RBI, while teammate Michael Tucker chipped in three hits and a run scored. Desi Relaford was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored for Kansas City, which was won six of its last seven contests.

Jason Grimsley picked up the win, despite allowing two runs in the eighth inning. Grimsley (1-1) worked a total of two innings and yielded three hits, while striking out two.

Mike MacDougal recorded the final three outs for his 10th save.

Starter Miguel Asencio surrendered four runs on seven hits in six innings of work on Saturday.

Kansas City set a franchise record with its 17th win in the month of April.

Runelvys Hernandez gets the call for the Royals today. Hernandez is a perfect 4-0 with a 1.10 ERA in five starts for Kansas City this season.

In his last trip to the mound, Hernandez picked up the win against Minnesota, allowing just one run on three hits in six and two-thirds of a frame. He walked six and struck out three.

Hernandez is 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA in his career against the Blue Jays.
