Texas Rangers Team Report - April 27

(Sports Network) - The Rangers were defeated by the Yankees for the second straight day by a score of 7-5. Texas will try to salvage a victory in the finale of a three-game set at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Ruben Sierra, Rafael Palmeiro and Alex Rodriguez homered for the Rangers, who have dropped five of their last eight.

The home run for Palmeiro leaves him three shy of the 500 club.

The loss went to Ugueth Urbina, who allowed three runs on one hit while walking three batters in just 1 2/3 innings.

Doug Davis went the first three innings for Texas and surrendered four runs on four hits. He was recalled from the minors to take the start for Ismael Valdes, who was placed on the disabled list earlier this week with a right shoulder injury.

Texas, a loser of two straight, looks to avoid the sweep by sending 29-year- old Chan Ho Park to the mound. Park will be making his sixth start of the season. His last outing was a 5-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox in Arlington on Tuesday night.

Park is 1-0 with an ERA of 3.00 in his only outing against the Yankees in his career.
