Cleveland Indians Team Report - April 27

(Sports Network) - The Indians fell to 7-17 with the 6-3 loss to the Athletics yesterday in the second game of a three-game set at the Coliseum.

Terry Mulholland (0-1) was saddled with the loss for Cleveland. Mulholland lasted just one-third of an inning in relief of starter Jake Westbrook and allowed one unearned run on two hits.

John McDonald went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the losing effort.

Cleveland, which has dropped five straight and nine of its last 11 games, will send 22-year-old lefthander C.C. Sabathia to the mound. He will be making his sixth start of the season.

Sabathia did not record the decision in his last outing, in which he allowed three runs on eight hits in five innings against the Mariners in Seattle on Tuesday. Sabathia, who won 30 games in his first two seasons, is still looking for his first win of this campaign.

Sabathia has been less than spectacular against the Athletics, posting an 0-1 record in two starts and a astonishing ERA of 19.06.
