Kansas City Royals Team Report - April 30

(Sports Network) - The Kansas City Royals fell 7-2 to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday in the opener of a three-game set at Fenway Park.

Carlos Beltran hit an inside-the-park home run and Mike DiFelice also homered for the Royals, who have lost three of their last four games.

The inside-the-park home run for Beltran was the second in his career.

Chris George (3-2) was dealt the loss after giving up three runs in 5 1/3 innings.

The Royals have gone 7-6 on the road this season, while posting a perfect mark of 10-0 at home.

Darrell May will make his fourth start of the season on Wednesday for the Royals, as he tries to shutdown the Red Sox. He went just 2 2/3 innings in his most recent outing of the year, allowing four earned runs and five hits while also walking four.

May (0-1) will be making his first career start against Boston today, but he has faced them before in relief. In those outings he has an ERA of 6.35 and has walked five players in just 5 2/3 innings of action.
